You can customize Throttle stop predictions for air fuel ratio and jetting, graph runs, and match predictions to the performance of each vehicle. Customize predictions for each vehicle separately, and create up to 5 separate predictions which are transmitted to the pager.
AltaCom II Hardware
Data is automatically transmitted from the console and remote fan aspirated sensors to a pager that can be carried anywhere. Standard transmissions include Temperature, Relative Humidity, Absolute Barometric Pressure, Vapor Pressure, Absolute Humidity, Dew Point, Grains/Lb, Adjusted Altitude, Density Altitude, and Air Density Ratio. Wind Speed, Direction and Maximum Gust are Optional.
You can customize which data is transmitted (including live ET and TS Predictions) using the Merlin Windows Software.
The pager has a backlight, holster, and stores up to 30 transmissions which are time and date stamped. A useful hold feature helps you save important readings. An optional print interface kit connects the pager to a serial printer, allowing you to maintain a record of weather changes without a PC.
All the standard data, plus optional wind information is displayed on the console. The 2 x 16 backlit LCD updates every 20 seconds, and a scroll button allows you to view the information of your choice.
Logged Weather Data
The console logs data every 10 minutes for up to 7 days, and can be connected to your PC for logged data download, and live data display on screen.
Rear console panel has 4 A/D RG11 ports and 1 digital input port ready for the optional anemometer (wind speed and direction sensor). Power, antenna, serial and remote cables have connections on the rear panel.
The Remote Sensor Housing
The well ventilated, fan aspirated Remote Sensor Housing makes it easy to get reliable readings and permits accuracy even when measuring in direct sunlight. No umbrella or shade is necessary.
Remote sensing prevents false readings due to IR (infrared, or solar) radiation which can overheat unshielded sensors. AltaCom II's powerful fan sweeps air across the sensors, preventing heat from accumulating, and providing fresh air for sampling so rapid weather changes are accurately reflected.
At the track, the remote is elevated to avoid air trapped beneath an awning, hot asphalt, and generator exhaust. In a dyno situation the remote can measure intake air while the readout remains in view. A 20' remote cable is standard, custom and multiple lengths are available. A sample installation diagram is provided to new customers.
Have wind speed, direction and maximum gust logged to memory, displayed on the console or PC, and transmitted to your pager. 40' cable.
Permanent Mount Antenna
Available instead of the standard antenna, or in addition. The P-mount has a 17' cable that you can route through your trailer. Antenna whip screws into flush mount when you set-up.
Programmed to receive data only from your weatherstation, extra receivers are available at any time.
Especially for longer trailers. Please order in 10' increments.
The AltaCom can be programmed with custom weather or prediction calculations.
